Dougherty County Archway

At one time in the early twentieth century, a Gateway Arch stood at the county lines of Lee, Terrell, Mitchell, and Worth counties. Development and road widening have been the downfall of the Gateway Arches. They were intended to be more than just road markers, but to serve as a symbol to welcome home citizens returning from travels, as well as a welcome to the trading and cultural hub of South Georgia.
