Pat's Cycle Shop
In the 1950's, Pat Pellicano opened a bicycle shop located on Pine Avenue in Albany, Georgia. Pat was a wonderful, loving and giving person. He was affectionately known as, "Mr. Pat. Most people from Albany have memories of a new bike purchased from his store or a repair that he did on their bike. There are so many stories of him giving bikes at Christmas to children whose parents could not afford the one thing they wanted for Christmas, a new bike.
The business was operated from the Pine Avenue location until moving to Washington Street in 1973. The shop remained on Washington Street until closing in the late 1980's. The building is still standing today. It was sold to the City/County to be part of the jail annex, The original sign that hung outside of the building now has a home in the family member's garage. It hangs along with the youngest grandson's first tricycle as homage to "Mr. Pat".
