Mcree Hall
James Price McRee built McRee Hall in 1906, for his new bride Jeanette Wade McRee.
Originally, McRee Hall had six bedrooms and two baths, but in 1934 the house caught fire and had to be extensively rebuilt inside, especially the damaged second floor living area. Also lost in the fire were the beautiful stained glass windows on the main staircase landing, but in the attic was found another stained glass piece in shades of green that was used to replace the lost glass in the window on the landing.
A hallmark of McRee Hall has been the beautiful leaded glass front door and side panels with reflecting glass.
In 2003, Harris and Linda Morgan purchased McRee Hall, and an extensive restoration of the property began. After two years, McRee Hall opened as a bed and breakfast. Four guest rooms are available, as well as two state-of-the-art conference rooms located in the beautifully restored McRee smokehouse and carriage house.
