Camilla City Hall
This red brick, Colonial Classic Revival city hall was built in 1913 during Broad Street's Gilded Age.
This structure is a two-story brick government building with a low pitched hipped roof. The floor plan is a basic square with a two-story portico over the entrance. The portico is topped with a pediment and large bracketed frieze, which is supported by four simple Doric columns. The front entrance is flanked by four, two-story, quoined pilasters. Other character defining features include quoining at the corners of the building and keystone lintels.
The Camilla City Hall serves as one of the best examples of a Colonial Revival city hall buildings, as well as one of the few remaining historic city hall buildings in southwest Georgia. The Architects were Sayre and Baldwin and the Winder Lumber Company were the contractors. It cost $20,000 and once had in the interior a large auditorium for theatrical performances.
